Strengthening analytical approaches to investigating missing children: a series of training sessions organized by the NGO LingvaLexa in cooperation with the Training Center for Prosecutors of Ukraine and with the support of the OSCE Support Program for Ukraine
In May 2025, LinguaLexa NGO conducted a series of specialized training sessions for prosecutors as part of a project to strengthen coordinated and analytical approaches to investigating crimes related to the disappearance of children under special circumstances. The event was implemented with the support of the OSCE Support Program for Ukraine.
The training sessions took the form of two-day events (May 14-15, 21-22, and 28-29) for three different groups, with a final module on May 29, 2025.
Key topics covered during the training:

OSINT basics: approaches, methods, ethics, data storage;

Digital and information security of OSINT analysts;

Account protection, creating strong passwords, secure working environment;

Searching for information about missing children using aggregators and photo analytics;

Using GEOINT tools to locate individuals;

Working with open sources in Telegram, including Russian registries;

Practical component: conducting OSINT investigations under the guidance of trainers.
The training program combined theoretical blocks and practical tasks using real cases and tools. Particular attention was paid to the protection of personal data during OSINT investigations.
The course ended with a full-fledged OSINT investigation together with trainers, discussion of the results, and the presentation of certificates to participants.
This initiative is part of efforts to strengthen the capacity of Ukrainian specialists to respond to contemporary challenges related to war crimes, disappearances of minors, and ensuring justice.
